About the Founder, Andrew Oliver

Picture of Founder Andrew OliverBlue Dolphin Yoga was developed in 2010 by Andrew Oliver. He has been a certified scuba instructor since 1995 and taught scuba classes both at the Jersey shore and Rutgers University.

He also began to practice yoga and became a certified instructor in 2005.   He quickly noticed many similarities between scuba and yoga and decided to merge the two arts into a new system of exercise that would provide the benefits of both activities.

He is also a certified Aquatic Fitness instructor and his goal was to develop a class that not only had the benefits of yoga for flexibility, and scuba for deep breathing and breath control, but he also wanted to incorporate aquatic fitness so the person stays warm in the water and has a great workout.

His first Underwater Yoga class was held at Rutgers University in the spring semester of 2010 and the class was very successful.

That next year he taught these same classes as Blue Dolphin Yoga on the beautiful beach of the Southampton Fairmont hotel with the Dive Bermuda operation and the rest is history.

Today Blue Dolphin Yoga is practiced at aquatic facilities and beach resorts around the world.
